Twelve days of Christmas and twelve months of the Year.
Taking the occasion to look back, from December to January. A year apart in time, but the months are still next to one another, linked by Winter.
Over the past year I’ve concentrated on the Wildflower Meadow, which will serve as the focal point for our Year-in-Review, starting with this image of the hoary Red Maple, naked against the Winter sky. Gray upon gray, but if you look closely you can see the beginnings of the red flower buds at the tips of the twigs. In January, that’s considered a major event.
