By April 14th the greening is well underway.
On a morning moist and pale, the delicate tones diffuse in the damp air, as April finally lives up to its reputation for precipitation. The rain brings some immediate relief from our drought, but the long term situation remains strained.
Still, the flowers of Spring brighten all prospects.
The dankness can’t extinguish an orange glow from within that shrub in the right-hand corner above, which, on closer inspection, reveals a glimpse of Quince (below).





Meanwhile, the Eastern Redbud has just begun to string purple blossoms along the length of its horizontal limbs. Barely a hint shows here, but look quickly, they move fast...
