The 23rd of March. Three days into Spring, but Winter lingers.
A shadowed corner of the Lilly Ponds protects the last icicles from the lengthening light of day.
Typical; a mild Winter, but then Spring greets us with an unexpected freeze. Even so, the life-force is already in action, putting the season on an early schedule. Icicles can hide, but they can't survive for long without undergoing a transformation.
Loosen up, and let it flow.

In the Wildflower Meadow, my favorite American Elm has just the faintest haze of green about its boughs, while the woods beyond remain bare, but by April 6th (below), things have changed. Is it just the angle of the light, or is Spring really gearing up..?
