thanks.....loved Its a MMMMad World as a kid, will get for the kids and will watch 12 Y a Slave one day

watched http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cries_and_Whispers last night, was quite deep and heavy and maybe great too....

strange fact about the film "US rights were bought by Roger Corman at New World Pictures who paid Bergman $75,000 for it and made $1 million in profit"

Now that you’ve figured out that Bergman is a great director (just ask Woody Allen,) have you watched The Seventh Seal? Ryley may not be quite ready for it, but it plays well to a boy’s inchoate fascination with medievalism, death, sex, and religion.

  • i havent watched the seventh seal since it was assigned for a class in college but it feels like its been more recently as the scene where von sydow plays chess with the grim reaper has been parodied numerous times.

for whatever reason when i watched a lot of foreign films i still never took a shine to bergman. i think the pacing was just a little to long and lingering for my taste. i just got my bergman through woody allen as you suggest.

  • I remember a reviewer noting that woody flipped the oriental carpets over in scenes in interiors to get the right feel in filming.
