penury insurance

i dont have health insurance. two years ago when they bumped me up from $320 to $465 i decided i couldnt afford it. i was just with somebody yesterday when they received news that their $460 was being raised to $575 a month. ouch.

$600 a month in a mutual fund would probably be better investment. My New Orleans home insurance has gone up almost 100 percent in three years. Sure you say, your area just suffered from a major hurricane. True, except I had no flood insurance nor did I make any kind of claim on my basic homeowner's policy, did all my renovation out of pocket. I just mailed in my bill this morning, which is why I'm going on so, why I am pissed off, which is why I'm about this close to saying--fuck Allstate, oops.

then again i had to go back to the dentist this morning for what turned out to be root canal on the same tooth i needed patched up twice last year. and now i know why he wanted me doped up -- the price. i dont know what hurts more - my tooth or my wallet. and whats worse, while i was suffering from stickershock, i forgot to ask for painkillers. fortunately i had one percocet lying around, and i dont think the pain will linger much beyond that.

and my insult to injury moment (going the wrong way on the subway this morning doesnt even rank). reached for a straw in a container on top of my fridge so i could hydrate without inducing pain. happened randomly to peer down the shaft only to find a roach making itself comfortable (much to my discomfort) therein . im going to go out on a limb and say i dont think my kitchen is exactly hygienic at the moment. overall, i think my life could use a root canal. wonder how much that would cost.

on the positive side of todays ledger, i did spy some naked nubility in the apartment across the street as i left the building this morning. so there is something to be said for early morning perambulations. wonder how she feels about possibly going to amagansett?

sorry snarky, i caught my mistake while you were cranking up the wit machine. but if i had to answer id say that fresh air is always good for the circulation.

If you did a naked spy, what's the big deal? We'd all be interested to hear about it. This is afterall, the internets. Nobody's judging you, man. Except about forgetting the painkillers. That was too stoooopid.

Things could be worse, at least you're funny. Funniest thing about me is my smile. I had a front (lower) tooth pulled last month and it wasn't the crooked one.

back to the dentist this morning. this time i asked about the cost of the procedure before they doped me up with nitrous. (actually, i passed on the nitrous this time since i didnt even need novacaine.) and when he said $1675 for a crown job, i said, why dont you just do a shit patch job (like the last two) for $200 and ill look into getting some insurance first. so that is what we did. and with enough whining i got my percocet perscription. now as long as i dont chew for the rest of my life i should be fine. now where did i put my tube of gogurt?

fuck. went in for a cleaning and they found a tooth with a hairline fracture caused by a 30yo silver filling. thats three teeth that need to be crowned now. looks like ill be getting insurance real soon but surely not before one of them needs immediate attention.
