I used to watch the daytime show locally with rabbit ear reception.
was actually a morning show which, sure, technically is daytime. i have one specific memory of watching in my grandmothers condo in delray beach probably over xmas vacation. nope, apparently i was there in the summer of 1980. only 90 episodes were made.
90 minutes
(June 23 – August 1)
60 minutes
(August 4 – October 24)
I saw a few of those morning shows. I think I remember Letterman joking that his show couldn't compete with this one which was in the same time-slot.

Stanley Siegel is who I remember as completion. Noted for the drunk or drugged or both Capote interview. Not necessarily the same time slot but How many morning shows can one market take? There was a tall Curley headed blond guy in the mix too.
