  • Nice try Jim L. The evening sun or "magic hour" effect was achieved by a 1K HM!, or possibly a backed off 2K, set at a low angle, slightly softened by 216 and raked over a piece of flagstone (purchased at Home Depot and to be returned after the shoot to recoup some production costs.) I'd say the art direction is a little heavy handed but I'll give it a pass. It's your animal wrangling that really falls short. The next time you force a couple of lizards together to pantomime coitus for the camera I suggest that they be the same species.

  • I wish it had been a pantomime (don't make me break out the three frame gif) but I have just been informed that they are broad-headed skinks and that the young ones have blue tails and you or your cats should not eat the tails because they are either poisonous or mildly hallucinogenic. The blue birds however, are fake, glued to a dead limb from the burn pile, and I am going to take them back to the craft store this afternoon. I agree about the art direction but that orange-headed bastard would not listen to me.

    • The blue birds are, of course, not bluebirds but barn swallows.

    • So you agree with me that they are fake.
