There is no way I can know for sure, but I'm pretty sure you don't own the type of shoe I am talking about in that other post. Calling it, whatever I called it, espadrille hybrid, does injustice to the espadrille, which is a fine shoe and one I have nothing against. However, if you do own a pair like what I'm talking about (but not describing very well) then I also owe you an apology. Here also I wanted to address my looseness with nomeclature and say that substituting Adirondack for Catskill was nothing more than careless oversight, but if I were forced to dig deeper for meaning I might say that I was trying to distance myself from the concept of killing cats (or cats that kill), perhaps trying to distance myself from one mother's questioning of me on the Catskill porch, as if I could be considered the resident expert on such matters, she asked me, do you think he will throw it in the fire? She was referring to her son who was cradling gently an injured kitten in his arms, as he walked down to the fire pit, where Adman was roasting for all of us, the goat. I am happy (for all of us concerned) that I was right this time in asserting, with little hesitation, that no, I do not think he will, and although truth be told I never did see that kitten again I am pretty sure, because I think Adman would have mentioned it, that the boy did not throw the kitten in the fire.
