Can't Drive 55
The speed limit in California is 55 mph while towing. However, it's a poorly enforced limit. But still, I'd say some luck was involved in my drive down 101 last night. Just south of Salinas I was stretching it out in an empty patch of road to close the gap with a clump of cars. When I spotted the CHP cruiser in the side view mirror, I was doing 80. I lifted and was going 65 by the time he passed me.
A couple hours south of Salinas I was passed again by a different cruiser. I was doing 70 when I spotted him. A bit later, I saw him writing a ticket for a German car.
I guess a Ford just ain't that excitin' to write up.
