Another unpublished letter

I thought this one was pretty good.

It is good but possibly didn't get picked up because the statement "For over 100 detainees in U.S. custody, that's how the end came" isn't sourced. Were you writing in response to an article they wrote and did that statement refer to something in the article?

The ACLU got this from recent FOIA actions. It's gotten scant coverage outside of the blogistan -- none that I've seen. You're probably right about sourcing it, at the very least in a footnote to the editor. I really wish I could stretch out to 200 words, but they rarely go over 100 and almost never go over 150. Some days the opinion/op-ed/letters section is 1 page -- in a major daily. Sad to watch the decline of print and the simultaneous descent into infotainment/propaganda of teevee.

I knew the story from blogs but your average "centrist" editor thinks that stuff comes from crazed communists unless you can source it to something they recognize. (Because of course "It can't happen here.") But even then they're unlikely to take it unless you can peg it to something they published.

Yeah, my highest hit rate is responding to stuff they print, thus my love/hate for Victor Davis Hanson.
