messing with perfection

It's especially important that the building remain intact, now that Time Warner's monster complex (chockablock with brand name stores at street level) dominates the 9:00 o'clock position on the Circle.

In the words of the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD), previously known as the American Craft Museum.
The deconstruction/destruction of the 'lollipop' facade - a term coined by Ada Louise Huxtable - will be a loss (and yes, even more so in the context of the 'new' Time Warner complex that is now visually monopolizing the Circle). I think this has already been posted (images of Brad Cloepfil's design). The strategy is to keep the design out of the debate. Cloepfil is staying off the public radar, while working quietly with his client on updating his design.
