real or memorex?
why we should talk about cady noland.
and why did she quit supplying the art system? i have a guess. i think it may be the creepy people factor.
"Cady, you must stay at our villa. We have beer, you could make an installation!"
i remember steve dib spontaneously contributing a crunched empty opening bud can to one of those metal milk crate pieces. i wonder if it stayed with the piece afterwards.
This seems to be drawing a lot of commentary on my page! Not. I guess everyone's gonna let the Times and Voice Swift Boat the gallery. The gallery should never have presumed to sample every critic's favorite bad girl.
i noticed. speaking truth to power too hot to handle?? ooooh scary. even for anonymous commenters.
this just reposted at artnet with more tasty installation shots
OK, so don't these photos undermine Saltz's description of the show as "visually inert and lackluster"? It looks just like a Cady Noland show, right? Whoever shot them was for going for low, dramatic angles--the pics really torque up the show, and I saw it in the flesh. Anyway, yea photographer! Boo again to Saltz for not getting the show!
The vitriol is strange. Is that a common thing?
