Odetta, Studs Terkel, Obama's grandmother ... it's a sad trilogy of unable-to-attends, vis a vis the inauguration. I have my differences with Chicago's Favorite Son (being a native Windy Cityite with beefs aplenty toward Chicago "Democrats"), but it's too bad these fine people can't enjoy the event.
thanks stdpm. two whole older generations will have experienced the civil rights movement and missed the ferment of their efforts.
