The Sounds of American Tropical Rain Forest (SFW CD 6120), produced in 1952 by the American Museum of Natural History, is rumored to have been recorded in a New York City shower.

I listened to the sounds of the Sounds of the Tropical Rain Forest (recorded in Peru, it says) and it sounds like a NYC shower. Kidding aside, field recording gear has vastly improved since 1952, I think. Some interesting frog and bird sounds nonetheless.
