really so much to offer here. js tells an anonymous afc commenter hell give him $50 to use his real name because he what, didnt like being challenged? neither he nor roberta can cook or even make coffee. what does that say about two of nycs most influential art critics? how can one (two) compartmentalize knowledge so severely without paying an equally severe price in their general life overview. (hint: this making of stuff, its all connected.) how many fb fans does he have and why?

You may recall I was calling out local powers 6 years ago for not having blogs. Now they have them--on a restricted platform where they talk about their breakfasts. Not really what I meant but I suppose it's progress. ("Not the kind of change we asked for but the change we get.")

its so creeeeepy. i liked that he feels his detractors are often those "who feel dissed by me; ignored by me. Etc. etc..."

I saw that Paddy had 20+ comments on that post and confess I didn't look at them. Jer is actually on there, mixing it up with AFC commenters? In a post about his breakfast? Wha--?

"Hi Jerry, Most artists eat rejection for breakfast." ...sometimes by people that cant or wont even make a cup of coffee.

fyi, fb capped his following at 4,970. i cant wait for more meltdowns and the final "good bye to this experiment, im done" entry.

I think you're right and that moment is coming (as long as he has a paid perch). Blogging is a different skill set from holding court with a one-way review (and being in the seat of total power for so many years). I know I'm morally compromised by turning off my comments but I will engage with people on the open internet without dumb shit like railing about anonymity. I can't say I never lost my cool and raised that with a particularly pesky commenter but I generally respect people's choice of a handle. But I started making all these mistakes and coming to these conclusions years ago. It's just so weird that JS is just now learning how to navigate these waters. The breakfast thing does give us some insight into what the absolute power of media gatekeeping does to people (turns them into freakazoids).

Jer is mingling with the hoi polloi again. The faux accessibility shading over to martyrdom is nauseating.

This is several times now that Howard has asked why I like or don't like particular work--he never responds to specifics, but keeps making the same "nothing new" rant over and over.

Paddy posted the "cast picture" and Greg.org noted that the artists are all wearing Gap and all the judges are in evening wear (Saltz with no tie--rebel.)

cast picture as fake annie leibovitz- timmothy greenfield sanders shot needs deconstruction. backs of canvas as back-drop ambiance. ass to ass. double reverse behind the scene pov... total non meaning a la JB.
