Agree--horrible. Every image pops up when you mouse over - extremely distracting and headache-inducing. When you go to the original page all but the image is greyed out, again, unnecessarily showoffy design. If it's fixed by all means break it.
(Actually the things that needed to be fixed, like making the searches smarter, are still broken. This kind of empty window dressing to make it look like something is happening is so corporate.)

Some people on that Google forum page don't seem to know that you can still toggle for dimensions, etc. (over on the left). Too bad you don't have the option to switch back to Google Images Classic.
