harvester? I climbed up into the cabin of one of these last week at the Williamstown Fair. This is the only motorized vehicle I want. For context, read Douglas Coupland's Generation A.
My grandparents used to take their trailer to the Oregon beaches a few times a year. My grandfather put an 8 speed gearbox in his (early-60's?) Travelall to make the climb over the mountains that separate the Willamette Vally from the coast a little easier. The dashboard was outfitted with an altimeter he found in some plane wreckage and one of those compasses that bob around in a clear dome filled with water. He sold that creampuff in 1982 without telling me first :-(
