The NewMu show is pretty good. The paintings, with a couple of exceptions, are fairly tight (I've seen way worse gestural abstraction--all of these have some kind of organizing principle), there is hardly a bad work on paper in the show, and the film and audio stuff is excellent. I don't think the show is trying to make the case that he's a major figure (or, uh, "role model") but it cements his importance as an auteur who was pretty darned consistent across all the media he worked in.
