12K house Ghent

The first steps taken by the architect and the client start with the search of a suitable building site. Under the architect’s advice, two neighboring houses were purchased, which exceeded the budget of the client. After all, it was Graves’ 1982 Portland Building that is, according to the movement’s foremost evangelist, Charles Jencks, “the first major monument of Post-Modernism, just as the Bauhaus was of Modernism.”
