ballmer going all in on clippers.
Not sure how the money gets divided exactly, but Sterling bought the Clippers in '81 for 12.1 million. Ballmer bid 2 billion. Nice work if you can get it.
forbes recently valued the franchise at 600 billion but soon after one of the worst clubs in the smallest market sold for nearly that much. there is a big new tv contract coming up in the near future that will supposedly make this seem like a good investment. not that he cant afford it in any case.
jokes from deadspin:
they are now the la clippys.
the jokes on Sterling. most of the $2 billion will be paid in unsold Zunes.
heres a column about nba franchise valuations from about a month ago.
