havent watched any of the french open but just noticed that djokovic v nadal is about to go down at 10 am est. nadal is somehow seeded 6th so this quarterfinal matchup came sooner than it might have in the recent past. i dont think nadal performed particularly well in the clay court tourneys leading up to the french so theres been a lot of hang-wringing as to whether his reign as clay court king is about to end. he has won 9 out of the last 10 french opens.

the other semi is warinka (8) v. tsonga (14). both are 30 yo. warinka won the aussie open in 2014 at his only slam final while tsonga lost his in 2008 also in australia. warinkia is swiss, tsonga french.
