  • nope. just asbestos.

one of her paintings was a cue for a music challenge on an unnamed social media platform along with more obvious recognizable works.

  • Don't think I knew of her. My art history course didn't cover any of the women artists of the Renaissance. Later I became aware of Artemisia Gentileschi, but I couldn't remember her name.

  • Not familiar with her. Gentileschi, Judith Leyster, and Vigee Le Brun were the best known pre-modern female painters when I was young, and all are worth looking at. In the diversity era there's been an incentive to focus on any artists that don't look like me, probably with an eye to a master's thesis. Anguissola is competent but like most male artists at a time when painting was a guild craft not much more than that, She may have had a keen eye but comes a little close to Keane eyes for my taste.
