Great Moments in Conservative Punditry
Every time you delve into the situation in Iraq, you come away with the phrase "not enough troops" ringing in your head, and I hope someday we will find out how this travesty came about.
I know Atrios blogged on this two days ago, but the Brooks piece just appeared in my local paper. I was eating lunch, and almost did a spit take when I came to this sentence. How can a man so profoundly stupid be so prominent in the media?
this is the neocons lament. unfortunately they cant blame those dirty hippies, (well they could try but...) like they did for making us lose vietnam so they have to play dumb. not a stretch for brooks by any means.
But it's also the line of pretty much every Democrat in Congress. "My vote for the war was right, it's just this huge mystery why it didn't turn out right."
"it was the right authority to give to" .... a craven, barbarous, ignorant lout
"Congratulations to Senator Joe Biden, who yesterday on Meet The Press graduated from old-school hawkery to the incompetence dodge:
It was a mistake. It was a mistake to assume the president would use the authority we gave him properly."
