Dean of low-hanging fruit.

i almost never watch chris matthews but i turned it on today as he was interviewing katherine harris. he almost does a good job trying to pin her down on her position on iraq but then he focuses too much on getting her to admit she supported the presidents position. its such a ridiculous game they play skirting obvious truths.

two other random observations:

- matthews referred to the 2000 election crisis as his "favorite five weeks in journalism." i wonder which was second, 9/11 or katrina? you know why bush/gore was #1? never had to leave the beltway. now that is fun!

- then in his sign off to the interview, he called himself a "big fan" of harris, which i believe is matthews code for "i would do you."

and to make matters worse, they cut away from matthews to cover some local kidnapping in buttfuck. very nice shot of a helicopter hovering over an empty high school football field with the scroll from the local news saying that the high schools soccer game had been relocated. im just glad i got the update in time.

matthews uses thruths as questioning angels in rhetorical games. them slaps them on the but when they leave. conveniently forgets that lewinski doesnt equate with tanking our economy and trying to start ww3.

well, hes just like broder. he views it all as a big game an he is the mc. for my money ill take wink martindale. noone should view a constitutional crisis and electoral fraud as the best five weeks of his life. its twisted. he calls himself a fan as if shes some ditsy celebrity which in his world she is. it was a very circus-like atmosphere; she the freak and he the clown.

On the other hand, Tweetie does a good job of exposing John Boehner's stupidity with relentless follow-up questions. I know, where was this kind of grilling in 2002?
