i caught a snippet of imus hosing kerry yesterday. "just dont even open your mouth anymore..."

kerry canceling all support appearances. the turkeys trying to blow it for us.

i really cant blame kerry much for this one. he clearly meant to castigate bush. that most of the news media can admit it was a misstatement and yet continue to flog it makes me nauseous.

a botched one liner. i heard him e-x-p-l-a-i-n (read the written version of the joke). im still harboring resentment from the last botched one liner. tripping over that single run-on sentence that was his presidential campaign. this incident brings back all those bad memories of him not being up to the job and allowing others to define him so easily. GET OFF THE STAGE. BOOOOOOO.

Kerry needs to get out of the comedy business. He had the written text right in front of him, and still blew the line.

The Daily Show was spot on last night. Why the general media outrage over this when Bush pretty much got a walk for his "where da dubya em dees at?" routine.

I was evaluating a video processor yesterday, and happened to be using the satellite feed of MSNBC as sample content (with the sound turned down). Tucker was flogging this subject to death. The NEW Tucker: No tie, still a dick.

The joke was that the dummies end up in Iraq, right? Is there anyone in the Washington elite that doesn't say that privately?

I see this as one member of the millionaire's club talking out of school at a time of the year when the plebes are being courted by various factions of the club. Of course, not saying Kerry's not a tin-eared klutz when it comes to handling media frenzies. Or that there's not a lot at stake here.

And Kerry was here in CA to help Angelides, who's a lost cause. All around, well played, Mr. Kerry.

whats with california democrats? dont they have anybody that doesnt look like a pencil-necked geek to run for governor? i think they should draft maria shriver. they could film it all and make a modern version of hepburn & tracys adams rib.

and dont forget the netroots were mad a kerry last week for not spreading around the money from his presidential warchest in order to boost democrats chances to recapture the senate. dont think hell be needing all that much money in '08. he should be concedeing right after new hampshire this time around. maybe his minions can turn a small gaffe into a major campaign blunder (paging dr dean). ye reap what ye sow in the land of amoral political poseurs.

as far as tin ears go, he was damned either way. first he was defiant, then he was apologetic. neither seemed to assuage the spinmeisters. hopefully people are smart enough to realize that theyre being played. cant imagine the gaffe is really an effective gotv tool.

Worse than the pencil-necked geek is the short memories. The Governator was very unpopular a year ago with his aggressive proposition campaign. He got slapped pretty definitively, and responsed by getting all amiable-like with the Democrats. But that's all window dressing. I can't believe people are buying it. I can't believe the Democratic party hasn't made the waste of money and thwarted power grab of last years special election a topic.

This past week in response to John Kerry's remarks about our troops in Iraq, White House Spokesman, Tony Snow, stated that Kerry should apologize to the troops because he insulted them. Snow preached to Kerry that "it is not that hard to just apologize."

The audacity of the Bush Administration requesting John Kerry to apologize to the troops is astounding given the record this Republican Administration and Republican Congress have with regard to their use of our troops in Iraq.

Admittedly, John Kerry spoke words that offended our troops. As a mistake, a poor judgment call, or a bad delivery of a bad joke, John Kerry's utterance was just that-the passage of words at a speech he was giving to a group of students. Kerry's words did not cause the unnecessary death or injury of another human being. In short, at the end of the day, NOBODY DIED.
