The John Warner anti-war escalation group ran an add during the Superbowl.

There is a vote for favorite Superbowl commercial on Youtube but the anti-war escalation bit did not make the list, so this is my write in for it. Anyway, it was most notable just for the fact that it showed up during the biggest advertising event of the year. It was simple brief testimonies by young American Iraqi-war vets saying how escalation is not the way to show your support for the troops. The last guy is a young kid with his arm blown off. Pretty powerful in the context of all the other humorous and glitzy ads.

I'm amazed the ad got on (glad to hear it). It sounds like a little pinprick of guilt in the middle of the capitalism celebration.

Speaking of which, I am depressed by the YouTube "contest" to give the ads a second life by having people "vote" for them. Such a waste of the "the people's medium."

(I mainly like really bad ads like the old Tom Carvel ads.)

Just saw the "supervote" banner while following a Butth*le Surfers link on Bill's page.

Little Opie Cunningham is revving the boat, and the Fonz is strapping on his skis.
