Some yahoo who "had gone to a racing school in Florida" seems to have forgotten lesson #1, use your eyes. Under California law, he could have been charged with a felony.
the bike rider/lawyer who followed him and blocked his car till the police came is a hero.
if it's true the victim was up on the windshield then Novak is clearly lying and it's hit and run.
I'm puzzled why he only got a "failure to yield" citation though--it's obvious he fled the scene.
A citation is completely inappropriate. This is at least a misdemeanor, if not a felony. I hope there's an ADA with some spare time to stick it to Novak. At the very least, expect to see a Law & Order episode out of this.
Also, there could be a civil case.
