man, john stewart is very reasonably carving up jim cramer. i give cramer credit for showing up and taking his lumps even though it was essentially a face saving exercise.

i offer usa today worthy commentary.

"Jim Cramer takes his lumps on 'The Daily Show'"
- dave 3-13-2009 5:42 am

two other cliches i considered and rejected that were merely internet entity-worthy. obviously i made the proper judgement.

"Jon Stewart takes Jim Cramer to the woodshed"

"JON STEWART TEARS JIM CRAMER A NEW ONE"

the village voices headline is circumspect.

Jon Stewart Beats Jim Cramer's Sorry Ass on The Daily Show"

forever swimming against the current gawker goes negative.

I couldn't watch it. I can't stand that Cramer dude and thought there would be shouting. It would be good if Cramer were investigated. Or at the very least stopped doing his show, the way Crossfire stopped after Stewart said aloud what everyone else was thinking.

nope more like cramer was called into the principals office and was doing his best to act contrite while deflecting as much blame as possible. as someone said, he wrong so often hes probably gotten quite good at feigning apologies. meanwhile hes calculating his profits in his mind and laughing at the suckers. stewart called him a snakeoil salesmen which was apt.

TV worth watching. Atrios has links to segments that appear to be uncut.

Since TDS mimics straight news shows, Colbert mimics personality driven blowhard shows, perhaps they need a third slot for a Fresh Air/Charlie Rose kinda show. Stewart could gently flay the flay-worthy.

Not to look a gift comedian in the mouth but it's too bad Stewart didn't cover the Cramer/CNBC "Obama tanked the market" meme.
After getting flayed Cramer wrote a long blog post blaming Obama some more and praising Limbaugh's statement that Cramer is on a White House enemies list.
On the happy side the CEO of Cramer's company, theStreet.com, resigned abruptly after the interview.
