I really didn't think he was going to do it, but Obama came through and released all the torture memos. How weird is it to be pleasantly surprised by the President?
Pretty smooth the way he says "we're releasing them to put this behind us and we won't be prosecuting anyone who relied on these memos."
But I'm also amazed he did this. I like that, in his accompanying remarks, he referred to the US having recently passed through a "dark chapter." Here's hoping that's true!
Maybe UC Berkeley can revoke Yoo's tenure based on him being, you know, a war criminal and all.
