and you said the ny times was not a serious publication. no links provided.

Stormy Daniels has often been discussed as the most colorful part of Donald Trump’s criminal trial. But in her court appearances she didn’t look particularly colorful. She looked the opposite, our chief fashion critic writes.

Her GD name is Stephanie Clifford and they should be using that. NYT almost always includes what the subject was wearing regardless of  coming from the fashion department.

this from cnn.

When introducing herself to the court, she identifies herself as Stormy Daniels.

When asked by prosecutor Susan Hoffinger, she says she prefers to be called Stormy Daniels, instead of Stephanie Clifford.

She appears to be wearing a black jacket, black top and dark pants.

When she first hit the news cycles they (news media) used both. Seems lazy or sensational not to. Noticed NPR still does. NYT used to include Mr. and Mrs or Ms or Miss all the time. Still do? I’ve been following the court illustrators for visuals.

should all actors that have a stage name be referred to by their given name? just seems confusing especially if she prefers the working name though im sure it grabs eyeballs. maybe shed prefer to keep her private life marginally more private. honestly i dont give a fuck about the actual case beyond its political implications.

I’m sure this all reinforces her brand in a way useful and profitable to her, hence her choice. Sex work is by its nature transactional like that. But in my mind I see a difference between actors and porn folk’s motivation for a pseudonym. Once it becomes a legal matter I would prefer news media use legal identification IE: Stephany DBA Stormy.
