THE MERRY PRANKSTERS (not to be confused with #V31 above)

60 mins. The infamous 1960's 16mm bus footage makes it's video debut after 30 years of
cold storage. Our journey begins with an in-depth look at the Merry Pranksters
themselves, from the beatnik days at Perry Lane and the Stanford LSD experiments,
through the psychedelic days at La Honda, to the bus trip itself. This video is an exciting
inside look at the Pranksters from a perspective that only they can bring to you. This
video is part one of a three video set. Recorded on Ampex pro grade tape in Hi-Fi stereo.
A lot of research, time and care and fun went into the making of this video and we think
you are really going to enjoy it.
Thank You AW for the above christmas present. Yes it includes some of the "The infamous 16 mm footage" but also serves as an introduction to all the pranksters (kesey,. babs, mountain girl, walker, hagen, seburn, more more more more more........)as they arive on the perry lane and lahonda scenes. A great primer with lots of footage of cassedy doing the silly dance which would soon sweap the nation at GD shows. They get the bus and paint the bus, all-pre 1st bus trip / Lets watch this one first and then move into the others. ho-boy!
The others (at least the second one) have some great 16mm footage of the bus trip. Unfortunately it is intercut with more recent video footage that is, well, sort of lame. I'd prefer if they just released all the unedited 16mm footage. There's no reason to try to force it into some sort of narrative. Isn't that the whole point?
Still, well worth it for the old footage. Thanks Alex.
