insultingly stupid movie physics
It's been all downhill since Lucas patterned space battles on WWII dogfights, with ships turning and pivoting and exploding as if the vacuum had an atmosphere. In Empire, Luke's trip across interstellar space to visit the Dagobah system in a tiny fighter craft always bugged the hell out of me, too.
