rats! i wish TCM had an online mechanism to find out when it will be playing again.
Pretty Poison, also with Tuesday Weld (plus Anthony Perkins), is also pretty weird. I have only the vaguest memory of seeing LLAD. So I might not have seen it. Coppola's You're A Big Boy Now made a huge impression on me as a teen. (also 60s dark screwball) McDowall is memorably smarmy in The Loved One (same genre).
ruth gordon had an interesting career. says she was a major broadway star in the 20s and 30s but didnt seem to have much of a film career. then she co-wrote a number of movies with her husband including two prominent hepburn/tracy flicks adams rib and pat and mike before she had this dark comedy/wacky granny era on tv and in film.
Where's Poppa? is another major Ruth Gordon wacky granny opus.
she had a big comeback on SNL in the 70's
