dont look back

i still cant believe i was hanging out with richard leacock once upon a time and i had no idea who he was. just seemed like an old self possessed documentary filmmaker who happened to be dating my girlfriends cousin. he was making a film about his love of eating eggs at the time for french tv. what the fuck was i supposed to think, that he was in part responsible for some of the most reknown documenaries in history?

then again maybe i was better off not knowing. i might have professed my appreciation for scalawags.
“I happen not to like the things that everybody else loves about it,” he says. While he shot some of the footage of Hendrix setting fire to his Stratocaster, Leacock found it “disgusting,” he said. “I don’t appreciate that kind of bullshit.” And he didn’t care much for Janis Joplin, either. “She was always just full of drugs and alcohol. I remember her coming to look at the film afterwards at our place in New York. She was lying there stone drunk, sucking on a bottle of Southern Comfort.”

I see you got that link on the Hot docs festival we have in Toronto. Sally & I are on a trivia team called the Docudrama Queens with a bunch of people who work for the festival.

AND WE ARE NUMBER SEVEN IN THE STANDINGS. RIGHT WHERE WE WANT TO BE. DAMMIT.

oh you canadians are so self obsessed. this is about ME and my delusions of adequacy.

and im watching MURNAU for christ(he doesnt merit caps)sakes , hes IMPORTANT. i cant be bothered with trivia, i just cant. i cant even find it on the website to be bothered by it if i wished to be bothered by it. but im bothered by not finding any reference to it. and that bothersomeness is non-trivial.

the mets are only three games out though and spain beat germany in the eurocup those are some quality standings in my estimation. still im more inclined, reclined really, towards sittings than standings.

ME ME ME.

i feel better now.

you were saying?

(shameless was quite good, btw. watched all five seasons then i moved on to spaced.)

Sometimes I use caps as defensive weapons.

I meant to tell you how much I loved Peep Show. Watched all the available seasons of that too.
