I just watched Mon oncle Antoine on Hulu plus. Made in 1971, It's regarded as one of the best films to come out of Canada. Kind of a meandering plot but had me hooked immediately. Due to my utter lack of knowledge on the subject of Quebec's Quiet Revolution, and a contemporary-looking coke sign that snuck past the production designer, I didn't realize it was a period piece, set in the late 1940's.
I just figured Canadians take good care of their old trucks, still like to wear jodhpurs and use horses to trek through the snow.
Indeed we do. And we all speak fluent French.
er...Quebecois?
dont poke the canadian, son.
Hell no, was only poking myself.
