saw some paparazzi (maybe half a dozen) stalking their prey just as i exited my apartment with a load of laundry. after i dropped it off i joined the circus for a couple of blocks and most assuredly ruined a couple of shots as i stood next to mother and stroller on the median while crossing delancey. as any new yorker would do i didnt gawk which may have contributed to the fact that i couldnt identify the mark. for this i have great shame but certainly less than the photographers do although i have little doubt they were summoned by a publicist for the purpose of communal parasitism.

i dont know. she didnt pay any attention to the photographers as she prattled on with a friend and there was a third party that looked to be stage managing the entire event. was weird though when i left my building and saw them scurrying about her angling for the perfect shot my first inclination was to look for the movie cameras as they shoot so many things on my corner i just assumed it was part of a movie. plus, it looks ridiculous as everyone on the street is drawn in to the most mundane of street theater while noone has any real idea whats going on.

it felt like it today. i stopped at the pickle store and nearly got stampeded by a tour of marauding jews storming the pickle barrels. then i had to skirt the multiple sukkot set up on grand st in front of the jewish deli to enter the bagel store before reaching my ultimate destination, my jewish dentist who had a pair of eldercare jews bickering in the waiting room as i paid my bill on the way out. in cash, of course, its 40% off!
