Watching it now, the first few shots hooked me.  Very interesting if you have an interest in gardens or even if you just like seeing old footage of the EV/LES.

I remember seeing this years ago. So great. I always think of the part where he says something like “you can shit in a toilet if you want,” as if that’s the craziest idea he’s ever heard, “but I’m making soil”

A bunch of familiar faces and a few friends; sur rodney sur, James Romberger and Eddie, the guy who built the tower in the garden on Ave B between 5th and 6th. Occasionally, Eddie would come to my place on 5th street for dinner, he often complained about the members of the garden who wanted to have his tower dismantled and the conflict within that particular garden community was pretty well known, the film captures some of that. I can sympathize with their fears of the tower being a hazard but I was sad to see it go after he died.
