Pop tarts are all about melting butter into warm  pastry. The frosting was jumping the shark for my generation as it repelled the butter.

  • For a while pop tarts was featuring smuckers fruit jam. I think it was in the 90’s and I have no idea why the merger ended. I would google but figure Dave might like the assignment

    • hard to come by an answer. definitely in pop tarts by 1964 but likely the year before when they were "invented." some site claimed it left in 1971. saw a box in 73 without smuckers on the label but strawberry preserves were still in the ingredient listings. saw a box from 1994 that had smuckers on the label. that was the most recent one i could find. someone suggests 99 in this thread but speculation.

  • I think blueberry and strawberry were the preferred flavors in our household. No cinnamon.

    • i only ate cinnamon or frosted cinnamon. no one in our house put butter on them but i guess that was a thing. was a fairly rare treat.
