The Flip This House girl better start looking underneath the freaking houses before she buys them! Or is that just so the story has a little drama? "Like, oh my god, TERMITES! I had no idea! Now we're totally over budget...."

Also, I've seen it on three times recently and each time I start watching only to realize that it is the same episode every time.

i think they show it twice a week. they use the same boss allot ive seen different contractors and girl project coordinators. and yeah they pump the drama at every opportunity.

this week my man carl and i have been putting in sections of concrete sidewalk out front. tuesday two 4 x 4' squares = 16sf tot 32 sf. yesterday one 4 x 8 square = 32 sf. we are about half done.

process :

break up old broken sidewalk with pic and sledge hammer, contractor bag chunks, stash side of house. dig down 4 inches, level with two bags sand, put in wood frame (expansion joint) where needed. wet area with hose. two 80 lb bags (sidewalk mix of rock sand and portland cement) at a time mixed with 8 quarts of h2O in a wheelbarrow with a hoe with two holes in it. dump in hole rake into possition. repeat process 4 or 5 times fills one 4x4' sq. trowel smooth. make brush marks with straw broom. use corner tool to smooth edges and round corner. water for 3 - 5 days to slow cure concrete. i have today off from watering because of rain. carl showed up again and we dug out the semi clogged drain. hand digging and snaking did the job. basement now dry in rainstorm for 1st time in a while. not that it was a serious problem. its a good dry basement more a nuisance.
