Carlson's father is Richard W. Carlson, president and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting from 1992 through 1997. His stepmother is Patricia Carlson, heir to the Swanson frozen-food fortune.
Carlson completed his secondary education at the preppy St. George's School, located in Newport, Rhode Island. He was enrolled at Trinity College in Connecticut, where after for four years, he did not obtain a degree [1]. Carlson describes his college experience thus:
"After four years I had met a lot of interesting people, gone to a couple of classes and restored a motorcycle, and that was it. And so I wasted my time at college".
reading a tucker wikipedia bio this am led me to look up coulters bio too: "Her father, John V. Coulter, was a lawyer, known for his legal work in cases against labor unions; he later became a constable. Her mother, Nell M. Coulter, is a member of the New Canaan Republican Town Committee."
