I gagged all the way through that thing. She should have thrown sake in his face and screamed "Thief! Murderer!" instead of going all civilized entertainment elite. "And then John Cusack called..." Gag gag gag.
i didnt say i liked her but i appreciate the 18th century french salon sort of intrigue (although i found it absolutely vile when dispensed by cokie roberts on the colbert report recently). i found the fact that chalabi could rattle off cusack movies as oddly illuminating. also, for an entertainment elite, cusack gives good screed. i did gag on occasion though. the pate was a little rich.
Not saying you said you liked her, but the guy should be deep in a prison cell and she shouldn't be hobnobbing with him. I can't read that stuff with any detachment at all. But you knew that.
