vincent price fright night on tcm .
I started remembering movies from late night TV in Midland. Price's The Mad Magician, a follow-up to The House of Wax, wasn't so scary, but I just remembered The Maze, which wasn't Price, but I just learned it was the last film of William Cameron Menzies (Invaders from Mars). It was originally 3-D, and the secret of the maze was an aristocrat who'd stop developing as an embryo at the frog stage (back when they believed that ontogeny recapitulated phylogeny)--so the climax was a scary man-sized rubber frog lurching out at the audience in 3D! It creeped me out as an 9 year old, even with no 3D. Sorry for the spoiler, but no one will ever see this movie.
