new series premiering in january on hbo. true detective starring woody harrelson and matthew mcconaughey.
i saw at least one mixed review but i liked the first one. the series may continue after this year but it will be a different case with different detectives so the actors arent locked into a long term commitment. the premiere got good ratings and since both the newsroom and boardwalk empire announced next season will be their last, along with the conclusion of treme, it would seem likely this gets picked up for another go round.
We are liking this one.
