two eddie murphy post back to back. does that constitute a trend?

just flipped on the tv and trading places was on comedy central so i figured id check in on it for a few minutes. in the first scene i watched they removed the word "nigger" from the text. you could still see he said it but they scrubbed the word out of the audio track. kind of defeats the purpose of expressing how odious the characters are if you lose that context. here is the quote. score one for political correctness?

Mortimer Duke: Do you really believe I would have a *nigger* run our family business, Randolph?

On a similar note, taking the n-word out of Huckleberry Finn is like taking the baby ragout out of A Modest Proposal.

Growing up in dallas tx in the 60-64 time locals used the term nigra thinking that it was an acceptable version of the N word. Others just went ahead and used the N word. Then later in the 60's some how hippies thought spade would be ok. then patti smith came along and started talking about Hendrix.

my post really needed a proofread. to be fair my eyes were extremely dilated from my visit to the optician. unfortunately there have been few to no studies testing whether excessive light striking the retina provokes poor grammar.
