I met Gordon Jump in about 1987, on a small snorkeling boat excursion in Hawaii. I knew the face was familiar, but I couldn't place it.

Seems like yesterday. I guess preferring Jan Smithers to Loni Anderson is akin to Mary Ann over Ginger on Gilligan's Island. Also recall a Moral Majority themed episode where a preacher was boycotting the station for playing John Lennon saying "there's no heaven" and Gordon Jump says "he only said 'imagine'."
loni was quick to point out that what distinguished her character from the run of the mill bombshell was that they made her character the smartest in the office rather than a bimbo. and they finally cleared all the music rights so that its coming out on dvd. also, hesseman and reid chose all the music that they played on their dj shows which they thought made it more authentic. hesseman had been a dj in la prior to the show.
