He should run for governor of NJ.

seems doubtful but it would be nice. he could provide an amazing window into politics by having a weekly show explaining what he was trying to do and why and how the forces were arrayed to stymie "progress."

also would be fun to see how he dealt with the obvious mudslinging and character defamation. i can see #ismokedpotwithjonstewart trending already.

i do hope they extend the search beyond their small universe. i wouldnt mind john hodgman because i think he has the requisite intelligence but his style may be a bit subdued for the role.

i think if the decision were solely jon stewarts he would give the job to this guy. he did a desk segment the other night an struck me very much as "his non-union mexican equivalent," or in this case, egyptian.

ive seen this guys name mentioned on a few threads - charlie brooker. here he is on his daily showesque show in britain. also he is the creator of the black mirror series so perhaps he could bring a new visual sensibility to the show. the one thing he might be lacking is americanness. to be honest im not exactly won over by this clip but thought it was worth noting. maybe its just some of the bad puns. i do like how its constructed.

its hard to come up with the perfect mix of fame and intelligence, comedic chops and desire to take on everything that comes with the job: a heavy work load, the political/media world drudgery and living up to stewarts legacy.

running through my rolodex, ok i was listening to a podcast, id love to see david cross take over. but he is 50 and likely would not want to work that hard all year round. next up, sarah silverman. kind of ticks off all the boxes including "not a man" but i dont know if shed want it either. also, she kind of hates comedy central after the way they messed with her show when it was on. and a lot of people dont like her.

I see Brian Williams as the evil nemesis in Anchorman III.
