the second iteration of true detective starts tonight on hbo. i have avoided any reviews to this point. looks like the critics are considerably mixed as to their enthusiams. 

i bailed midway through the third episode when i realized i had no idea what was happening and i cared even less. lots of gnashing of teeth after last night finale at which point i made the executive decision to purge the rest from my dvr.

i am living the dream!
