good start for mr and mrs smith on amazon despite the fact that amazon now wants to extort an extra 3 bucks a month for an ad free experience. 

master of the air on apple seems less enthralling. watched the pacific for the first time not long ago and thought that was really engaging. this has been boring by comparison. despite the obvious danger its still too removed to feel engaged in the dropping of bombs from the sky while being buzzed by faceless german fighter planes. 

mr and mrs smith opened with a tense scene starring alexander skarsgard and eiza gonzalez and someone wrote that they would rather watch that show and maybe they are right. i dont mind that the spy shit is just an excuse for a romcom after all the original movie played with that notion but i wish the spy shit had some momentum. or maybe the movie was make-believe sexy fun and this feels more grounded in the drudgery of relationships. i thought that was the point of the opening scene actually. here are two movie star hot actors and the stakes are high and they immediately ..... SPOILERS..... is that enough time for you to stop reading ???? kill them off to imply that is not what this show is gonna be about. sorry, suckers. this is the indie movie version of events except we still wont really reckon with the consequences of our actions.

anyway, about half way through and will continue on, and it seems, the initial scene will resonate later on, but not quite as enthused as i was at the begging.
