I'm not sure what M is planning but think she will return at least briefly to oversee some renovation. House is ok. New roof, one damaged interior room gutted, but not re-done. Electricity is restored. Exterior mostly repainted. Housing stock is in short supply and a house like hers, that took in no flood water (only rain water thru partially blown off roof) could be seen as a valuable thing. I've heard reports that there is some level of gangbanger activity resurging on the block, but that was alway there and by itself, although not ideal, does not spell doom.
