Sexual Logic
April 16, 2002

Last Thursday, while driving home from Vegas, I did my usual monitoring of the AM air waves. My favorite fake psychologist, Dr. Laura, was in fine form. "I'm not qualified to give psychiatric advice, and I hardly know you, but here's what you must do ..."

As I crossed the Tehachapi Pass, leaving the Mojave Desert for the San Joaquin Valley, I picked up the Savage Nation from a station in Fresno. This is talk radio turned up to eleven. The host, Michael Savage, makes Rush Limbaugh seem like a corpulent teddy bear. While Rush is the smiling face of the right wing, Savage is the pit bull. Mr. Savage puts the extreme in extremism.

Somehow Savage got into a rant about Clinton. Now, I've heard Rush, O'Rielly and others rant about Clinton, but Savage always takes it a little further. "What do you expect from a president who masturbated in the White House? Yes, I said it, he masturbated, masturbated, MASTURBATED!"

Whoa there Michael. You seem a little hung up on the "M" word. Have you been reading Leviticus again?

Later in his show, Savage brought in a conservative Catholic. Together, they defended the Catholic church from the onslaught of criticism over cases of sexual abuse. Savage reasoned that the problem was not with the church hierarchy. The problem was infiltration by a "Lavender Mafia", which is part of some sort of global conspiracy of perverts. And those who criticize the church are leftist wackos intent to destroy all that is good and true.

Okay, let me see if I understand. A man who spanks the monkey in the privacy of his own house is "evil", but men who failed to act against known molesters are "good"? Thanks for clearing that up Mikey.

So here's the scary part. Savage Nation may be extreme, but it's not fringe. It's the longest running show on KSFO. It has the highest Arbitron rating in its time slot among men in the SF Bay Area. And it's one of the fastest growing syndicated radio programs in the country.

Move over Rush, California Uber Alles!

You were in Vegas researching job opportunities, right? Take your time on that. Rushing into things is not the way to go. Go slow. I was just made aware this week that that plug in thing (AC adapter for your laptop?) on the floor by the surge protector at Dumaine was yours. I can send it if you need it. You missed the French Quarter Fest. It was kinda fun. The seeds you threw behind the house blossomed into a veritable "carpet of snow" and there were a couple of other things that survived two hard freezes and by January came to be an embarrassment to my wholesome sensibilities, if not an out right liability, so I had to yank 'em. The Texas bluebonnets were a no show.

  • I'm planning to be in New Orleans for Jazz Fest, and for the NCTA trade show. I can pick up the adapter then. Is the front room available?

I was in Vegas for the NAB show with 100,000 other video geeks. The cable guys at NCTA aren't as square as the NAB. They always have what we call "content providers" at the trade show.

Did you take some snaps of the floral frenzy?

    • Yeah sure, come on, the front room is as available as it was back in November, haven't done anything, work/money slowed down for six months, but has picked up again. Could realistically have hot water and central air but will probably f around some more about that, however, still have the window unit, so the front two rooms could be made as comfortable as you have any right to be. Bring some more of that California brandy. I took some pictures of the white flowers but the pictures were not all that.

    • You just can't ignore Savage. I heard that he will now have a show on cable. lmorawietz

      • Holy f*ck. Donahue is leaving MSNBC about the same time Sir Savage comes on board. The Foxification of cable news has taken an ugly turn,

Well, I've been listening to M. Savage for at least 2 years now. The odd thing is that he can captivate an audience of listeners over the airwaves, or on his MSNBC show now, because........he makes what he says, sound.....so "convincing". So "right on". Kinda. Eh.......

It sounds forceful enough, like he knows exactly what he's talking about.......he's "polemic"......I actually had to look up that word because I was reading about Michael Medved...meaning, he's argumentative, disputatious......etc.
*And anyone who doesn't agree with him or see eye-to-eye with him, is, basically.......a "Moron". Yeah, right! Huh!

I noticed that lately, he flip-flopped on his opinion concerning Bill Bennett ... He was telling the listeners....So what if he likes to gamble......he didn't hurt his family....he had the money to spend, that gambling really isn't a "vice" necessarily...But a couple days later he was saying what a hypocrite Bennett was and he also said that on his show. I think something or somebody told him he was taking an unpopular stance on that....so he just acted like he all along had been decided that Bill Bennett was gambling way too much, . was a total hypocrite.....(so what.....a lot of people are hypocritical......so is M.S.!).............

You know what? I'm not calling myself "anything"....Liberal OR Conservative. I'm a little of both........but really, I'm just me......a 40 year old single mom and homemaker in Napa, Calif. . Mostly, I'd define myself as a Christian. But politically.........eh.....who needs it? These days, it's true. It's hard to tell who to vote for anymore,...."the lesser of 2 evils.....? What do we really know about the people we vote for? And these people running for president.....I didn't pick them.......who did? Other people in other states who are powerful enough to become popular, or who have enough money to actually run for President?....Eh!....And if we do vote for them, how do we know that they're going to do what they said they'd do when elected.?

What if they do what they said they'd do, and they make a mess of things anyway? That happens too! It's never a "Win-Win situation" ......Whether a Democrat gets into office or a Republican! Right? Of course right! (at least to my way of thinking!)

And politicians a lot of times have ulterior motives, agenda's, biases, of course. Who doesn't?? Why does M.S. harp on **Liberalism** all the time. ?? It's a BROKEN RECORD YOU'RE PLAYING, MICHAEL SAVAGE AKA MICHAEL WEINER. Everyone is imperfect.....both liberals and conservatives or independants......He thinks it's so wonderful to be calling himself an "Independant". Sheesh.

So what else is new.

You know, why doesn't he just come out and say, (of course he won't)....*Hey, my given name is Weiner, but I changed it to Savage....sounds more forceful and powerful....and I come from a Jewish background>...* Is he ashamed of being of Jewish heritage?

Then why does he say he supports Israel? Hmmm, if he won't even come out and say that his name is Weiner, that he comes from a Jewish family........?

And he keeps saying that all religions lead to God. No, they don't Mike!! That's another thing I differ with you on. Jesus said that He is the Way, The Truth and the Life.....Nobody comes to the Father, except through Him. And for those who have never heard of Jesus, God will, I know, judge him fairly by his/her own heart.

Another thing! I love people, all people, and I don't hate those who are even "against" my own beliefs. But it sounds like Mike absolutely dislikes people, he gets disgusted with people, anyone who doesn't see and agree with.....his own brand of "Truth"...and even then, I still think that "HE" thinks that those who unwaveringly agree with him are the real "Sheeple"! ...Mike wants ratings, it looks like he gets plenty of good ratings. But his brand of "talk" will go by way of the ash-heap someday. Believe me.

I don't see any love in Michael Savage. He keeps saying he loves the ducks, he loves his Chinese food......and I think he prides himself on how he comes across to people. He loves to hear himself roar. He comes across to me, as a narcissistic, homophobic, self-centered man.......and his over-riding concern, supposedly....(and it's probably true to his way of thinking) that picking on the illegal Mexicans coming across the border and somehow, barring their entry to the U.S. will solve most of our countrie's economic woes. I doubt it!!!........Like illegals are the worst thing that could happen to our nation.

Yes, people try any way they can to enter the country. You know why? Cuz Mexico is a hell-hole to live in! So is Cuba! So are a lot of other countries. I really don't blame them. What are we going to do to stop them? Like one guy said.....Build a long trench on the southern and northern borders of the U.S. and fill them with gasoline and light them on fire......? So there's a river of fire between the U.S. and Canada and the U.S. and Mexico?

The world's biggest problem is not illegal aliens.....although in some cases, it's true that some hospitals are busy taking care of them.......but they're busy taking care of us too who already live here! And Mexicans spend money buying things here. They're consumers too, you know! If our gov't had wanted them out completely, don't you think they would've done it by now.?? So, the gov't isn't going to do much about illegal immigration. Maybe they figure there's just no sure-fire way to stop the immigrants, and that idea of putting our military on the borders to guard them?

What a stupid idea. I don't go for it. Let's just look to our own hearts and minds and clean house. Let's not leave it to Michael Savage to say who's right, who's wrong. Of course, that's the way we should always be when hearing people like him.........Let us reason it out in our own minds!

Look, all I can say is this. I "do" believe that America should be strong militarily. But that's not the end-all and be-all of it either. About tax cuts, I don't know, maybe that tack will work, hopefully, again, I don't know. But Michael Savage KNOWS ALL. He loves to brag about his so-called "intelligence". Yay, tax cuts.......Boo!...to tax increases! Oh, come off it.

Well, only God himself can bring total law and order to the world. All governments are unperfect, although I'd rather live here than anywhere else. That's why I believe that the Lord will be coming again pretty soon....I'm a "born again" believer, so that's what I believe. God judges people individually, too, though, not just 'collectively'. He sees into our hearts.

The Lord loves us because He's the One that made us. And he even made man (humans) in His own Image. God is love.
God is righteous. God is All-powerful. God is pure and just. And He is Holy. And only He has the knowledge and the power to see and discern what is in each person's heart and soul. If you want to listen to Savage, keep one thing in mind ......or anyone else on TV, or the radio, etc.

Jesus said that unless we become like little children.......childlike in our love and devotion and faith, and turn to Him...........unless we do this, nobody can enter into Heaven. And thos who believe, even on the Name of his Son (Jesus) will be able to enter into His Kingdom. Where He has made a place for us. And we have to leave ALL things in His hands. We need to each, give ourselves to the Lord, the One and Only. And look to Him. He is above All. He is the One that truly will always look over us and care for each one of us! Yah!

The Lord knows what's going on in the world. He will prevail. He forgives our sins, He washes us clean, He loves us, he cherishes us..........and He wants us to not put our faith in people.......but to put our faith in Him alone.

God Bless!

- Savage or no Savage...Mr. Wein (guest) 5-19-2003 9:05 am [add a comment]

I feel sorry for people who believe anything that Micheal Savage shouts about.
I love listening to Savage because it's some of the best comedy anywhere on the airwaves.
It's so obvious that he's an act.
He's doing the angry white male act to garnerratings and cash.
I consider him the conservatives' answer to Sam Kinison.

You may believe Michael A. Weiner, Michael Savage's REAL name, is an act, but in real life he is actually much worse than on the radio or TV. In my opinion, he is the typical street bully, a height-challenged wimp, full of bluster, ready to fight (but by using his attorneys), brash, rude, foul mouthed, woman bashing, egotistical, PARANOID, threatening, miserable, alcoholic, demeaning, crass....I'm boring myself to death! Yes, he yells, screams and insults to keep his ratings up and to appeal to a certain extremist mentality, but he enjoys behaving in this unacceptable manner in real life. It is pitiful that he gets paid for being what he really is, a loud-mouthed, obnoxious bigot.

  • Whether or not I agree with them I believe in freedom of speech. I wish that even the worse people would respect children, especially a child that has been hurt. What he said about Elizabeth Smart will always be inexcusable. He should be ashamed of himself for treating a child that has been hurt this way. I made a webpage with my thoughts of his comments about Elizabeth Smart's kidnapping ordeal on the March 18, 2003 broadcast of The Savage Nation and I also have transcripts for those of you who are unfarmiliar with it. You can copy and past the link into your browser's address field

Now, I've noticed lately that Michael Savage is saying that we ought to get our military people out of Iraq. And one day lately, about a week ago, he even said that President Bush should be impeached. Then, when he started getting emails saying to him..........*what????*.........he sidetracked that, and just starting adding that he "wanted to wake up the President".

-----------------------------------------------------------

Ok, who's side is he on? He is very confusing lately. It's like he's swaying in the breeze with his comments again. Due to his own perceptions of the public opinion, or his own ideas that look as if, some, are built on quicksand. I do agree that if the U.S. State Dept. and our government, let Iraq become an Islamic Republic, instead of a true Democracy, that would be horrible........especially because it's already been done in Afghanistan.......because already, Christians are starting to be persecuted in Iraq for their beliefs. And because Christian Iraqi women won't wear veils to cover their faces. The Muslims in Iraq won't tolerate freedom of religion.
We shouldn't leave before we've finished the job. That's how I see it!
-----------------------------------------------------------

But if the U.S. pulls out of Iraq too soon, we'll be leaving it in the hands of the Shi-ite Muslim majority. And those people are insane, they have such un-Godly beliefs that they hold.
-----------------------------------------------------------

But where does *The Weiner*.........stand on these issues??
He says he's in favor of support for Israel........I just don't know, I think he may partly be pandering to the right-wing Christians in this country who tune in to hear his show.
----------------------------------------------------------

Like I said earlier, I think that when we tune into the AM/FM airwaves, we just have to rely on our own best judgement and we have to take what we hear and perceive.... what's what....what is the truth...........decide for ourselves, without being totally, and overly swayed by the commentators who expound on all these political things .........and especially for people like Savage, who hold in contempt, those who disagree with them.
We HAVE to take it all with a grain of salt and settle these issues in our own minds and think for ourselves.

===========================================

Don't listen to too much talk radio, but mainly, don't listen to too much of Michael Savage. It'll warp your mind and make you depressed!

Michael Savage is a great American. His language, Borders
and culture is RIGHT ON TARGET!
Our country is being over run with Ilegal aliens. I just lost
my job because I could not speak Spanish and ask the
owner of the company if some of the workers there were
llegal. I call the (after being fired) INS and reported that
Illegals were working for this company. Will they do something
about it? HELL NO!

¡Que lastima! Pero, en los estados unidos hay muchos trabajos. Buena suerte en su búsqueda.

Michael Savage may have an attitude that a lot of people don't like, but if we knew as much as he knows about the corruption in this country, then I think we'd all have an attitude, and something to say about it. I know listening to him can be depressing, but it's not him, it's the message that's depressing. We can't blame him for that, he's just reporting the truth and he doesn't care if the libs want to cover it up and keep the truth hidden or warped into something else so they can make their obscene profits of the average ignorant American. Hillary is quoted to say that Americans aren't smart enough to make decisions for themselves, they need Government to do it for them. Well, screw that! That's just as bad as Barack over there talking about how we simpletons cling to guns and religion and how bitter we are. If you are not outraged at the lack of morals of these people who are trying to run our government and turn in into a communist country, then DON'T listen to Savage. Stay in the dark and ignore the truth. They always say that ignorance is bliss, and the truth hurts. True. Stay ignorant of the truth and you won't know what hit you when you get slapped with a lawsuit for discimination because some liberal doesn't like it that you don't cow to them and their global warming homosexual adengas.
- Jen in Kansas (guest) 4-25-2008 4:02 pm [add a comment]

"Global warming homosexual agenda"?! Awesome!

I'm not a huge fan of Hillary, but I'm not aware of her saying "Americans aren't smart enough to make decisions for themselves, they need Government to do it for them." I'd be interested in seeing a reference.

But I do know that the current administration acts that way. I'm sure they had anticipated the difficulty of getting overwhelming popular support for the invasion of Iraq, or even a majority, which is why they lied through their teeth. They lied about the risk Saddam posed to his neighbors (none!), the WMD (none!), and the links to UBL (none!). When asked recently about the fact that the majority of Americans now don't believe the war was worth it in the first place, and want the US out of Iraq, Dick Cheney's response was "So!"

What the crud! Who does this little pecker think he is? Have you ever heard that sort of arrogance from any Democrat at that or similar level of authority?

He said "So"??!!

We're talking matters of war, issues of security, the life and death of Americans and Iraqis.

And he said "So".

Mr. Clinton might have asked about the definition of the word "is" while answering questions about his uncouth penis. But never have Slick Willy nor Mrs. Clinton ever shown that level of disdain, condescension, and outright disrespect for the American public.

I don't like the executive branch leading us into a war based on lies that is making the country less safe, while ballooning the national deficit, and making their fat cat buddies in the defense industry (including George H. W. Bush) rich off of lavish contracts.

Would you run a trillion dollar war using a credit card issued by the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China? Well, you're boy George (and don't tell me you didn't vote for him -- twice!) is doing exactly that. Your children's children will be paying interest to the Communist Party, propping up their multi-trillion dollar pan-global investment portfolio.

Tell you what, you don't like homosexuality, then don't do it. Your choice. But Micheal Savage, the useful idiot, has you worried about whether boys will hold hands in public. No, don't look at the real issues facing this world. What's going on in your neighbor's bedroom is what really matters.
